Definition: Same as thin first-year ice.  WMOSeaIce 

Ice with a white appearance caused by the occurrence of bubbles within the ice. The bubbles increase the scattering of all wavelengths of light in contrast to the appearance of bubble-free blue ice.  AMSglossary
