Term: Frost mound
Definition: Any mound-shaped landform produced by ground freezing combined with Accumulation of Ground Ice due to groundwater movement or the migration of soil moisture. Various types of Frost Mounds, (e.g., frost blisters, icing blisters, palsas and Pingos) can be distinguished on the basis of their structure and duration, and the character of the Ice contained in them.
